Tuxedo Shirts

on Mar 3, 2012 in Blog, fashion, sewing | 5 comments

I finished up a commissioned sewing job- ALTERED TUXEDO SHIRTS. It is a really fun, quirky fashion item. If you sew, basically, you take the shirt back and sleeves off the original garment and use those as the pattern pieces for wild bright fabric. Then sew the new wild back and sleeves back into the shirt. Easy-peasey, right? (Though it does take a small bit of time, to get everything re-lined up, pressed and tidy.)

This is the fabric, supplied by the client. Looks like they are attending a FUN party. The one fabric was a super shimmery floral and the other was a more gauze-y floral.

The shirts are already on their way to their destination. I hope they are a big hit.
