Workshops

Hexagons Made Easy:  Learn the techniques to create shapes prepared for quick machine applique OR reversible projects.  The project is loosely based on the Hexagon Circle Wall Hanging in the book Hexagons Made Easy.  The supplies requirements will give you enough fabric to try the technique and let the creative juices guide you to an original unique design.  The workshop focuses on design empowerment as well as the “facing” method to prepare any geometric shape.  Beginner

The hands-on workshop  is about 3 hours long.  Kits and books are available.  We can work out the details to make the best class for your shop or guild.  Drop me an email.  Class can accommodate up to 30 people with a required 7 student minimum.

Kits retail for $18 each and include almost 3 1/2 yards of fabric.
Class fee is $15/pp.
Hexagons Made Easy + Kit + Class Fee = $51/per student

Supply list will be provided.

The Cube Purse:  The Cube Purse Workshop uses layer cakes to create a versatile purse design.  Learn the basics of inner-construction, zipper application, y-seams, magnet clasps and quilting.   The Cube Purse Pattern finishes at 9 1/2″ on all sides.  The pattern was inspired by the book, Deploy That Fabric, as a result, there are tips and tricks for using garments in the finished bag design.  Confident Beginner

Patterns and inner-construction supplies are included. Students will need to provide a Layer Cake + 9″ plastic non-separating zipper and 24″ of 1/2 wide grosgrain ribbon.  This is a 5-6 hour class.  We can work out the details to make the best class for your shop or guild.  Drop me an email.  Class can accommodate up to 15 people with a required 5 student minimum.

Class Fee – $45/pp

Supply list will be provided.

The Adjustable Apron:  The class takes your favorite woven fabric and transforms it into an adjust able apron.  You will learn how to draft a pattern on Pattern Ease* or parchment paper, how to make a casing and how to turn the straps.  The pattern we’ll make includes sizes for an adult or child (2T-4T).  You will also see a quick easy method for adding trim to your apron design using the Seamingly Accurate Seam Guide.  Beginner.

This is a 2-3 hour workshop.  The project is very “iron” centric, so class rooms will need to have space for a few ironing stations.  We can work out the details to make the best class for your shop or guild.  Drop me an email.  Class can accommodate up to 15 people with a required 7 student minimum.

Pattern and Seamingly Accurate Seam Guide – $16
Class Fee – $20

Supply list will be provided.
