This fun modern quilt pattern will allow you to stitch those curved shapes in record time.  Break out the fat quarters and learn this fast facing technique to make this queen sized bed quilt.  Every block will have a unique gentle curve and showcase your fabrics.  (Anna Maria Horner Fabrics by Free Spirit, pictured above/on the cover)  Each block is made to be a large 15″ square. Finished Size: 75″ x 90″ Skill Level: Intermediate FREE SHIPPING!!!! This title is available as a downloadable e-pattern (pdf) only.  No templates are required for this design. The same technique used to make this entire quilt was also used in making this block, below: In addition to the dense quilting in the block above, this 1″ channel stitched idea also works great on this quilt.  (Hopefully, the quilting detail isn’t too blurry.) Pillow Pizzazz Book

Pillow Pizzazz Book

on Jun 26, 2012 in accessories, Blog, book, Books, sewing | 0 comments

Have you seen this fun new title from House of White Birches?  It is Pillow Pizzazz!  With the continued popularity of the Pillow Talk Swap on flickr, this book comes at great time.  12 different pillow designs by various contributing designers. I was honored to have one of my pillow designs selected for this publication.  The pillow set uses jelly roll precut fabric strips, includes piping, instructs you how to make a custom pillow insert and is a bolster shape, rather than a traditional square or rectangle.  Pretty fun, right?  The fabric isn’t quilted, so the project is really quite quick. Hopefully I will have a few copies in the ReannaLily Designs shop soon for you, but until then, please pick up or request your copy at your favorite sewing book shop. You can see more photos of the various and diverse pillow projects in the book on this gallery linked below: Pillow Pizzazz Project Gallery Tell a...

How about some designer original fabric from Spoonflower?  Yep.  I took the pallet recommended for the QuiltCon Block challenge and went a bit crazy making some basic fabric concepts.  Melted Stripes, plaids, tear drops and my favorite- My QuiltCon Block Entry INTO PolkaDots.  Now that is fun, right?! The collection is called Bold Basics. I added 4 monochromatic versions of the prints in case you just really like the melted stripes and don’t need any color pallet restrictions.  All the swatches are available for order on Spoonflower.com, at their standard prices: I just received pieces of the whole collection and cannot wait to make something wonky and modern with them.  I hope you hop on over to Spoonflower and pick up your favorite prints.  (Don’t worry, that whole Jen Eskridge (c) will not appear on the actual fabrics.) **It is, of course, important to note that these fabrics are inspired by the QuiltCon event, not endorsed by it.  Tell a...
