HI! Welcome to the ReannaLily Designs stop on the Melanie Testa Meadowlark Blog Hop. Read through to the bottom to learn about entering to win prizes.

Let me introduce my new favorite friends:

Meadowlark | Windham Fabrics

As you probably know, if you’ve been hopping along the blog hop, Melanie is an FIT Graduate and textile/fiber artist. Her hand-stamped, original designs are now available to everyone. Hooray! Her work has been published numerous times and she’s even been on TV. In fact, you probably already know who she is. When I was contacted to work with her line, I totally had a “fan girl” moment. The art on her website alone is pretty, inspiring and unreal at the same time. Check it out. Amazing work.

Her debut fabric line, Meadowlark, was showcased at Pittsburgh Quilt Market, spring 2014. I was lucky enough to work with the line to create samples for her booth at the big show.

Cool Palette

My projects for the booth used all cool colors from her collection. Everything matched so well and looked so great together. How great are those birds?!

First up

Melanie Testa | Meadowlark | Windham Fabrics

Table Runner made in the style of Hexagons Made Easy. This table runner pieced up almost all the scraps I had left from the variety of projects. Scrappy Hexagons is a great way to use up small pieces.

Loads of free motion quilting on the table runner.

Ghost hexagons to compliment the appliqued hexagons. Now, I don’t know if you’ll be able to see it in the next picture, but I was able to mix in selvage edges in the scrappy piecing. It is not a total selvage project, obviously, but it was pretty cool to be able to feature the designer’s name with the fabric line.

The Cube Purse. This is a popular pattern from my own company. I went ahead an made up a sample. Now, here’s something cool- one of the prizes from ReannaLily Designs and Melanie Testa on this blog hop is a fabric stack of 10″ precut squares. Well, what do ya know? the Cube Purse is made from 10″ precuts! If you win, you’ll receive the the fabric stack and an ePattern for the Cube Purse.

Bike Bag

The next project I designed and created for her booth is this very cool Bike Bag. It is barrel shaped, quilted, zips and is the perfect size for an urban commute. This pattern may or may not be on the horizon. Stay tuned.

Sewing Kit

The last project created for Melanie was a Sewing Kit. It is design by Melanie and adapted by yours truly. The kit includes a boxy sewing zippered bag with 3 supply pouches. The bag itself is quilted and bound. Since it is quilted, it appears “lined” but really – it is just the back of the quilted pieces. How quick is that?

Melanie Testa | Meadowlark | Windham Fabrics

(What a weird camera angle… that bag is really about 9″ x 7″, but it looks like it is so much smaller – either that or I have King Kong hands. Thankfully, that grid will keep it all straight, regardless of crazy camera angles.)

One of my favorite parts about this Sewing Kit is the little see-through sewing pouches. I think I will add eyelets to the corners of the pouches so they can be tethered together. They were so very fast to make, too.

This may or may not be a pattern coming-soon. Stay tuned.
