The book showcases projects that feature appliqued curves made from using a simple facing technique.  You’ll have to try it.  You can really achieve some interest effects by using facings applied to your circle and curve shapes.

How can you get a chance to win one of two copies?  Easy-peasey- Simply leave a comment answering the question:

Have you tried sewing curves?

Winners will be chosen at random on Aug 23rd.  You’ll need to check back to see if you’ve won.

Good Luck!

Happy Birthday!!

  1. I’ve made two wallhangings that had some curves to them. It wasn’t as bad or as hard as I thought it would be, but definitely a technique to practice more before I would say I’m comfortable with it.

  2. I sewed my first curves only last week, while making a bucket tote which has a circle for the bottom. I liked it but it wasn’t perfect by any means so I clearly need more practice.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  5. Im working on an apple core (my first) the pieces are large but I think small would be quite doable too. As a garment sewer I’ll say, it’s easier than set I sleeves on little girl party dresses, ha!

  9. I tried my first curved piecing recently. And I love the way it turned out. Now all I have to do is find a way to finish it that fits well with the circles of the piecework.

  17. I didn’t have much luck when I tried to sew a drunkards path block. I was so attracted to one quilt pattern made up entirely drunkards path blocks. I bought the template; as soon as I got it I cut 2 squares with the template. One turned out so-so, the other turned out not-so-great. It had lots of puckers and was awfully wavey. So I gave up. If I win, I hope I can follow your instructions on how to sew easy curves because I really don’t want to have to purchase the curved piecing foot. Thank you for the chance to win.
