Hexagons Made Easy?

Some blog fan/followers may have seen these pictures a couple weeks ago on the ReannaLily Designs Facebook page or maybe the *new* instagram account.

I had just received my first and only advance copy of Hexagons Made Easy when I found out that we had to travel out of state for a funeral. It was 9 hour drive each way and decided photographing my new little “baby” would be a great distraction. That worked. After we returned, I still wanted a few more pictures around town/s with my new favorite book. …. …. I may be carried away with this idea. I want to snap shots everywhere these days. Enjoy this craziness.

  1. I guess you probably realize that showing a picture of yourself poolside there when it SNOWED here overnight is nothing short of torture. For shame! 😉

  2. I love your quilt(s)! It’s really nice to see it made up into 2 colorways – color is a game changer – though both of your colors are super. I do like the mix of solids and patterns. Thanks for the chance to win a copy of the book.

  4. Yes, I combine solids and prints as I believe solids enhance the prints plus the eye needs a space to rest when viewing the quilt overall design.

  5. I especially love your blue quilt! I recently mixed solids and prints in a modern quilt and I loved the outcome – the wedding couple almost didn’t receive it since I wanted to keep it!

  12. I think mixing solids and prints can bring out the best in both. Although, sometimes the results are a little surprising!

  13. Of course I mix solids and prints. Lately I have found patterns are becoming my friend more often. I always used just solids with one or two patterns. Now I am becoming free.

  15. I enjoy your quilts. I’ve used pattern with solids before, but not complicated patterns. I will have to give it a try.
