Block of the Month
Phew, that was a bunch of posts about my new favorite thing, Hexagons Made Easy. Now we are back to some regular “what have you been sewing” blog posts.
Here’s the San Antonio Modern Quilt Guild’s February Block of the Month, Frank’s Block. I have it jammed up on my small design wall.
This is a great original block designed by our Architect Modern Quilter, inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s designs. She has really nice cutting instructions… which I apparently couldn’t follow. Operator Error, for sure! This block of the month is the kind where everyone makes as many as the want, drop each block into a “lottery” and then a winner is drawn. The winner wins all the blocks the guild made.
Our guild is awesome in that we budgeted for fabric for these challenges. That’s right. We are give the fabric, so that the winner actually has a whole collection of blocks that go together and match. Sure… whoever wins my little gem will have to deal with some rigged-up-patchwork, but over all, it will be ok.
I do totally hope I win!!! The meeting is tonight. I’ll keep you posted.
