Hexagons Made Easy Blocks
Hexagons Made Easy showcases 18 different block styles. This section was inspired by Marcia Hohn’s Quilter’s Cache website. You are provided with the fabric requirements and directions to make one block. Armed with this, you can go on to make as many blocks in as many styles as you want, to add into any quilt design you dream up.
Of course, I cannot reveal all 18 blocks to you here on my blog. But what I can tell you is that they are all based on a large 15″ finished quilt block and make up quite quickly using the easy hexagon technique.
We’ve even provided a few simple quilt design layouts to springboard your own hexagon-based quilt. The layouts give you general tips to make successful designs, such as color placement, shape arrangements and directional designed blocks.
One of my personal favorite, quilt block 14 + design, is The Snowman wall hanging. Most Hexcellent.
The blocks are divided into 4 basic types:
- Single Appliqued Hexagons
- Stacked and Appliqued
- Joined and Appliqued
