Red Birds Whole Cloth Mini Quilt
Can I call it a mini quilt if its just a small square of fabric?
After making my whole cloth birds, inspired by the Green Fairy Quilts Dragonfly tutorial, my friend, Lisa, recommended I try the design with contrasting thread. When I made the yellow quilt, I thought my (cough) light orange was really breaking out…. um…. I mean, it wasn’t yellow…. Well, I did go back and try the design with shimmery pink Superior Thread on top and Coats & Clark red in the bobbin. So this is what the birds look like in red. The pink thread totally reads white in the picture and in real life.
Like my first test piece in yellow, this is only about 17″ square. It uses wool batting. If you like the bird shape, you can download it on the original post, yellow birds post.

You are really getting good at this!!! I’m impressed!
Lovely! I downloaded your template after seeing whole cloth birds and had a go at it myself. Not nearly as good as yours, but I’m really proud of it. Thank you for sharing.
This is so gorgeous! Thanks for sharing that tutorial by the way!
Your quilting is beautiful. We’re so happy you chose to use our Metallics thread. Thank you so much.
