Pathways in Quilter’s World Aug 2011

Quilter's World Aug 2011

Guess what…  The August 2011 Quilter’s World is almost out!  I received my copy yesterday.  I’m so pleased to share my Pathways quilt with you.  It is a big ole QUEEN size quilt.  You’ll have to check it out.  It is quick to make, modern to look at and fun to showcase any machine quilting designs/motifs.

((The text in the photos have been blurred out on purpose.  You’ve really GOT to see this magazine in person!))

Speaking of quilting designs- the actual design stitched into this quilt was done by Colleen Eskridge.  Yep, she’s my mother-in-law.  She does excellent work on her long arm.

I love how the quilt is photographed “in use” and also in a large flat image- so you can see the project a couple different ways before you dive in.  The quilt showcases a group of focus prints- in this case, Anna Maria Horner’s Innocent Crush for Free Spirit.  There is a second colorway also printed in the magazine.  The second colorway features Art Gallery Fabrics and some their really delicious pinks!  Completely different look- right?  And can I just say, if you are all about fussy cutting or novelty prints, this quilt would be a great way for your “I Spy” quilts to peek out at you.

You’ll have to pick up a copy of Quilter’s World, when it hits the stands, to see how easy it is to put these curves together and make the quilt rock and roll.
