New York City- Here I COME!

on May 10, 2011 in Blog, book | 3 comments

I have some crazy exciting news.  In only two weeks from today, I’m going to New York City! This is the first time I’ve ever been.  EVER.  I’ve wanted to go for about, um, 15 years.  Ever since college.  Now, in only two weeks, I’m going!  Hooray hooray hooray.

Lapel Pins for Book Signing, Deploy That Fabric at the BEA 2011 show

Let me tell ya why I’m going-  My sweet little sewing book, Deploy That Fabric,  is going to be launched at the Book Expo America at the Javits center, and I get to do a book signing!  I’ll be at the show on Wednesday May 25th.  If you are going to the show, you’ll have to stop by and say HI!  The American Flag lapel pins have a small piece of uniform fabric attached to them.  I’ll be giving away pins at the book signing, so you can show your support.

Oooh and I’m so excited about The City, itself.  If you’ve been, give me some tips.   I cannot wait!

  1. Jen, that is amazing and fantastic! Cute cute CUTE pins too! We just went to NYC for Thanksgiving. I highly recommend the Macy’s parade, but I doubt, even though you are more famous by the day, you could get them to put that on for your visit. The NBC studio tour is pretty cool if you are into that kind of thing. I’ve always wanted to be one of the yahoos outside the Today show, and I feel you could do a good job of that. :) Have a GREAT time and congrats!

  2. Have fun in NYC. Make sure you have comfortable shoes. You walk everywhere. At least I do when I go visit my daughter and son-in-law. They live there. The City Quilter, Mood Fabric and M J Trims was fun too. Thank for your website. Have fun.

  3. Go find a subway app for your IPhone. Trust me, it will get used.

I like Mary’s suggestion of visiting Mood Fabric…maybe you will see the Project Runway contestants there.

If you are going to the Statue of Liberty, go early. That way you stand a chance of getting in in a reasonable amount of time.

    Have a GREAT time!!!
