WMQG Challenge- REVEAL
And its finally finally finally time for me to show you the Robert Kaufman Fabrics- charm challenge for our WMQG!
My quilt is 100% inspired by Don’t Look Now and the Joseph’s Coat quilt-along. As it turns out, I’m not as meticulous. I don’t hand applique. I worked with a much smaller “wedge” shape. BUT all in all (and from really far away) the quilt turned out ok. My favorite part is the shimmer Krenik thread I used in the quilting.
I McTavished the areas that were not part of those “wagon wheel” shapes. Then I used the raw-edge applique stitches to serve as my quilting stitches- kinda like a ticker tape quilt. As it turns out, though, using that free-motion foot to try to EXACTLY edge-stitch these small curves was very tricky. Its a mess. BUT… I do like it in a it-has-character kinda way. =)
You can see the other quilts either in this blog post or in our WMQG page under photos.

Hey Jen, what are the overall dimensions of the quilt??? I’m trying to give the applique some dimensional perspective in my brain!
The quilt is 26″ square.
You’ve done a beautiful job! I love the colorway!
Would you mind if I recreated something like this for a swap that I am in? I will definitely post that it was inspired by your lovely quilt above – thinking of doing a blue/pink fad in/out similar to what you’ve done above in the rainbow colors.
