Decorator Fabric Headboard

Falling Cat

Poor cat...

My MIL worked at a quilt/fabric shop in Mississippi.  When the shop decided to close its doors, my MIL took me up there to go through all the interior design fabric samples.  (This shop had everything, from home dec, to formal, to quilt, to collegiate novelty fabrics)  I picked up a few squares at that time.  All the decorator squares were finished with a serger, by someone else.  Later I found some coordinating remnants at a  LARGE chain store.  I finally got around to fixing them all to my wall to make a massive {{cheap}} headboard for myself.  I think the most expensive part was the fancy oak-ish frame purchased at Lowes for $5.98/ea piece.

But there’s no sewing on this project.  All the samples are stapled neatly to the wall and the frame is nailed in with small-head nails.  Home crafting!

I did want to show you the picture though, because my daughter’s crazy cat, Meep,  decided to fall off the window sill right when the photo snapped.  (right hand side) Good gravy.  I swear.  Thought you’d enjoy it.  And of course, he landed on his feet.

Happy Birthday MIL!

What I want to know is “Why I don’t see a quilt on that bed?” :-) Nice job!
