Fun funky fabrics

I’m super excited to be able to take a few finished Cube Purses to the Spouse Social in April.  This will be on McConnell AFB and 20% of all sales/custom orders taken that night will be donated to the McConnell Officer’s Spouses Ways and Means fund.  The funds are then given back to the community in the form of charitable donations, community support and scholarships.   I wanted to share the 7 bags I have, in the Cube Purse style, that I’ll be taking that evening.

All the bags are made from Recycled Military Uniforms.  6 of the 7 bags are all FLIGHT SUITS.  There so many zippers and pockets on a flight suit.  As a result, these bags have a serious amount of storage and unique features.  Each bag is different, from its complimenting fabrics to its pocket placement.  Of course, every bag has 4 drop in pockets inside AND a zippered pocket in there as well.

If you see one above (ready made) that you want, please contact me via email and I’ll put your name on it.  A portion of that sale will be donated.  And of course, if you are a sew-aholic and would like to make a bag of your own, please check out the Recycled Uniforms Patterns section of the shop to purchase your very own Cube Purse pattern.

Grab your uniforms, flight suits, abu’s,  and I’ll see you at the social!

Don’t forget to enter the 101 Patchwork Projects Give Away. It’s open until Friday, April 15th, 2011.

** Sorry, the picture isn’t the best picture in the whole entire world… But I’m guessing you may have seen The Cube Purse design around a couple times.

  1. Those are wonderful! I love the mixture of the utilitarian fabric mixed with the crazy and cute colors.
